The Batik Loach Nemacheilus triangularis, previously Mesonoemacheilus triangularis, is also called the Zodiac Loach. It is truly a distinctive and beautiful Hillstream Loach.
The Batik Loach has a grey to white-ish background color. It has striking patterns of angled brown to reddish stripes interspersed with spots. The stripes tend to intermittently merge in the center making a horizontal line back to the tail. When they get stressed or nervous they can drastically change color from lighter browns to very dark, almost black.
These fish are not picky on food, but picky on timing to eat, so you may not notice them eat as soon as you put food in. Make sure there are leftover food for the fish to scavenge.
